Our linemen, along with the many who came to assist, are working to restore power safely and efficiently to the 6,000 Co-op members currently affected by outages. (Updated 8:00 am, Sunday, 12/22) Last year, a powerful Christmas Day storm resulted in major power outages. This year, heavy rains and high winds arrived a few days before Christmas. Following yesterday's storm, crews restored power to 11,211 members affected by power outages. The most without power at any one time was 6,000.Crews are still working to restore power to the 875 members members still without power. Update --- As of 6 p.m. just under 4,500 members remain without power from storms and high winds across Sam Houston Electric Cooperative's service territory today. Outages are concentrated around the Livingston and Woodville areas.
